mac-group appoints new COO & CCO

mac-group have announced the appointments of Michele Deely as Chief Operating Officer and Ron Clarke as Chief Contracting Officer to oversee the company’s steady climb.

Michele is a high-impact executive with proven success in a variety of global capacities in the financial services sector. A tireless change agent, Michele brings a wealth of experience with 17 years in senior positions, most recently as COO (Europe) with International Fund Services, a State Street company. This background, combined with her pedigree in governance and business management, ensures she will bring an energetic eye for detail and will no doubt be comfortable with the mac core values which centre around ‘questioning assumptions’ and ‘exceeding expectations’. Hailing from Ireland, Michele is no stranger to travel having lived and worked in New York and provided senior leadership to large teams in Europe and Asia.

Michele has a proven leadership track record in complex, billion-dollar, global organisations and she brings this wealth of expertise to mac to ensure that it continues to provide excellence, quality and partnership to clients. The ongoing success of mac will be achieved with a convergence of process and passion, and Michele’s creative and pragmatic approach underpins this philosophy.

mac-group CEO Paul McKenna said: “The appointment of Ron Clarke and Michele Deely illustrates our determination to secure the continued success of mac-group and the sustained commitment to strengthening our management and operational expertise.”

Ron brings with him over thirty years of leadership experience and knowledge of the construction industry. He was formerly Managing Director, Building and Interior Fit-Out with Graham. As a member of the Graham main board, Ron played a key role in the growth and development of the business over a thirty-year period with turnover rising from £80m to £650m annually, thus establishing Graham as a major player in the UK construction market and No.1 contractor in Northern Ireland. Ron’s career spans thirty-seven years starting out as a Quantity Surveyor, moving into consultancy for a time, then working on some of the largest joint ventures in Belfast. He progressed through commercial contracting and later operational delivery with a hands-on style of management.

Ron will focus on the NI/UK business units as the company expands its service offering, having grown the Graham business to become a major main contractor, his vast experience will be invaluable to mac-group. Being an extremely well known and respected industry figure, he will expand mac-group’s client and consultancy base whilst driving operational excellence. He will work closely with and support the UK Director Ray O’Sullivan, spearhead its recruitment of experienced delivery teams for projects throughout the UK regions and support the Construction, Interiors and Modular divisions.
