The 2019 Irish Construction Excellence Awards – An opportunity to Align with Excellence

The 2019 Irish Construction Excellence Awards (ICE Awards) Judges are currently reviewing the fantastic entries and will be announcing the finalists in the coming weeks. The 2019 ICE Awards will showcase the very best in the construction sector in Ireland. With the March Gala event getting ever closer we introduce the confirmed 2019 Sponsors and highlight the opportunities available for companies who wish to Align with Excellence.

Founded in 1993 the Irish Construction Excellence Awards (ICE Awards) are the original and premier recognition of performance excellence for the contracting sector in Ireland. Entry to the Awards is open to Building Contractors, Construction Managers, Civil Engineering Contractors, Specialist M&E Contractors, Specialist Contractors, Construction Product Suppliers, and Third Level Colleges offering certain construction-related courses.

Celebrating Excellence

The focus of the ICE Awards is to recognise and reward companies who strive to move the industry forward. We saw some amazing projects at the 2018 Awards. These included landmark projects such as the National Gallery of Ireland, Páirc Uí Chaoimh, Adare Manor. These facilities will be visited and enjoyed by the public over the decades to come, contributing greatly to our built environment and culture. We saw Irish talent completing some great projects abroad: FiftySevenEast, London; Museum of the Future, Dubai; Britannia Point, London. This shows what Irish contractors are delivering on an international stage.

Excellence can be defined as “The quality of being outstanding or extremely good.” Excellence is celebrated across industries, professions and trades. It is important to celebrate the best in construction, and from our perspective Irish construction. Construction is an international market and these awards will shine a light on the capabilities of Irish construction and market the industry to national and international clients. There is a great range of categories reflecting the construction sector of today with a special category added in 2019 for Construction Project Management. The Judging Process is rigorous and overseen by a highly qualified panel of internationally recognised experts. Our Judges have been assembled from construction disciplines including construction management, engineering, architecture, and cost management. You can read more about the Judges on the Awards website, www.ICEAwards.ie

Looking ahead

The landscape of the Irish Construction Industry has changed over the past few years. Employment is increasing month on month, we are completing major projects, including new buildings, major redevelopments, infrastructure, and refurbishments and we are showing that we are leaders in construction technology and innovation with our progress with Building Information Modelling (BIM), Lean Construction and Offsite Construction. We have a new outlook now and have a lot to look forward to in 2019 and beyond.  However, we also face challenges ahead, most notably Brexit, delivering housing for our people and building and upgrading our existing infrastructure. In the years ahead, the ICE Awards will showcase and reward the best projects which are delivered to meet these challenges.
