The 2017 EXEED Grant Scheme is now open for applications

EXEED – (Excellence in Energy Efficient Design) provides a new framework for energy efficient design management for both new investments and upgrading of existing assets.

The key objective of the grant scheme is to incentivise and support the uptake and application of EXEED Certified projects.

The EXEED Grant Scheme will provide grant support of up to €250,000 . It will cover up to 50 % for professional services in the pre-investment stage and also up to 30 % of additional capital being expended on opportunities identified through the process and being implemented.

EXEED will independently certify assets using this framework that optimises energy performance and energy management capability. The EXEED process puts energy management firmly on the design agenda -commencing and integrating the energy management discipline at the earliest stages of design.

The grant scheme is relevant to:

New design projects of any scale complexity and sector.
Major energy upgrades of existing workplaces and assets.
In addition to financial support, SEAI will provide additional mentoring, information and advice both at group and individual project levels.

A suite of information sessions are being planned in March and April. These are being planned in Cork (30 March), Galway (31 March) and Dublin (1st week of April). These will be morning events and further updates will be provided on these when confirmed.

Commitment to progress to EXEED Certified is a requirement for application and to be eligible for grant support.
The 2017 grant scheme will have funding constraints within the 2017 work window. It will therefore provide funding support for the extent of work that can be completed within 2017, with the commitment to progress towards EXEED Certified in the future.

It is probable for new design projects of a large scale that support will be limited to professional services employed in the energy efficient design processes during 2017.

Applications will be evaluated on the basis of quality and on suitability for EXEED Certification. Projects will be evaluated on a first come first served basis. Please read the EXEED Grant Scheme application guidelines below which contains all the information relating to the application process and the evaluation of applications. There is a two staged application process. It is encouraged to submit applications as early as possible to maximise the grant window. However applications will be accepted throughout the year, taking into consideration remaining budget and remaining grant window.
