2.2-acre Tallaght site with development potential for €4.5m reduced price

A development site with planning permission for a €40 million leisure and retail complex located opposite The Square shopping centre in Tallaght, County Dublin, is offered for sale this week at a reduced price.

According to the Irish Times, Colette Mulroy of Savills is quoting €4.5 million for the 2.2-acre site which was purchased before the property crash for approximately €20 million by developer Bernard McNamara.

Despite setbacks, there has been local confidence that the mixed-use project will eventually proceed. This was strengthened by a decision last year to extend the planning permission on the original scheme until 2020.

Colette Mulroy described the site as “easily the best development opportunity in the Tallaght area”. The Irish Times states that “While it benefited from a positive planning grant, other high-value uses may also be suitable, subject to planning permission.”
