‘Industria’ showcasing some of Dublin’s most talented young graduate architects 24th – 28th June

Industria is the culmination of a yearlong project by DIT’s final year architecture students.

Over the course of the year, and in conjunction with IDA Ireland, the modern workplace has been reimagined. Designs located on sites across Waterford city include a vertical brewery, a hotel adapted for use as an apiary, a river water treatment plant and a drone testing facility. Drop in and explore the diverse range of beautiful drawings, models and imagination on show, you never know what you might find!

The students are responding to a brief devised by their school as part of a collaboration with IDA Ireland – an organisation responsible for attracting foreign direct investment to Ireland. The brief asks the students to investigate the Irish city of Waterford, the country’s fifth largest city. The students are asked to prepare both strategic urban visions for the city and create architectural proposals with potential investors. The results are a wide variety of typologies that all interpret the idea of “Working Life” in contemporary society.

Industria will run from 24th – 28th June at The Chocolate Factory, Dublin 1. Entry is free. For more information visit www.industria15.tumblr.com
