An Taoiseach opens new Yahoo EMEA Office in Dublin

Today An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny T.D., officially opened Yahoo’s new state-of-the-art office in the regenerated Point area of Dublin.

This move to a larger facility fulfills the expansion and creation of 200 new roles that Yahoo announced in March of 2013.

The 78,000 square foot offices are designed with a simple, modern style to reflect Yahoo’s approach to product development and focus on the user.  Yahoo has invested up to $12 million in the Irish economy in the redevelopment of this space which includes a gym and large canteen with terraces and views across the River Liffey. From here, Yahoo services its global operations and in particular the Europe, Middle East and Africa region.

An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny T.D., said, “Ireland is establishing a reputation as the internet capital of Europe while Dublin’s silicon docks is now home to some of the biggest internet companies in the world.  Yahoo’s expansion to a successful regeneration area such as The Point shows how a new wave of tech companies are helping to secure recovery in Ireland.  For our part, the Government will ensure that companies like Yahoo continue to see Ireland as an attractive location for business and new investment as we implement our Action Plan for Jobs.”

Patrick Scully, Yahoo EMEA Managing Director added, “Yahoo first opened it’s doors in Ireland in 2003, and this year we are celebrating 20 years of being incorporated as a company – we can’t think of a better birthday present than the new Dublin facility. Ireland is a great home for Yahoo thanks to its business friendly environment, unparalleled infrastructure and skilled multi-cultural workforce. Today we welcome a number of Yahoo clients, partners and members of the community to meet the teams and enjoy our new office environment.”
