Amazon announces 300 New Jobs for Dublin

Amazon celebrates 10 years in Ireland with plans to add to the 1,400 staff already employed in the country

The highly-skilled roles datacenter technicians, software engineers and customer support staff will be hired over the next two years and will be based out of Amazon’s expanded offices in Ballsbridge, Dublin.

As part of this announcement Amazon has expanded its presence in the city by adding more capacity to existing office space. This brings Amazon’s office space to over 100,000 square feet with room to further grow the number of employees in Dublin.

This news also comes as Amazon celebrates the start of its tenth year in Dublin. In September 2004 Amazon established a presence in Ireland and since then has invested over €1.5 billion in the local economy. The first jobs in Ireland for Amazon were datacenter technicians and networking staff and since then the business has seen dramatic growth both in the numbers of staff and the diversity of roles. Dublin has also been a location for the engineering of new technologies that support a number of Amazon’s businesses including its retail operations, devices and Amazon Web Services.

The new, highly skilled roles currently being recruited for include: Software Development Engineers; Network Development Engineers; Datacenter Engineering; Support Engineers; Technical Account Managers; Systems Engineers; Kindle Field Quality Engineers; Security Specialists; Technical Managers; and many more.
