SQS to create 75 jobs
SQS, the world’s leading specialist in software quality, has announced further expansion of its Irish operations, with the creation of an additional 75 jobs over the coming three years. Already employing over 200 people across its Dublin and Belfast operations, SQS is committed to increasing its workforce by over 35 per cent up to 2016. The new jobs to be created will see 50 based in Dublin with 25 located in the Belfast office. The company is currently looking to recruit up to 30 skilled positions before the end of this year.
The latest jobs being created by SQS Ireland are high end specialist roles encompassing software quality engineers, software testing managers, business analysts, performance engineers and software test analysts. Established in Ireland since 2002, SQS has enjoyed impressive year-on-year organic growth directly servicing the Irish market, with an average growth rate in employment numbers of 20 per cent.
Coinciding with this latest jobs announcement, SQS Ireland has moved to new expanded 4,000 sq ft modern office facilities in Dublin’s emerging technology hub in the ‘Docklands’ area of the city. The new offices have a state of the art training centre, IP-based high-speed communications facilities and fit-for-purpose customer hosting services.
Speaking in advance of the official office opening event at which he will be attending as special guest of honour, An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny, T.D. said: “The expansion of SQS with the creation of 75 jobs is a most welcome development and another encouraging sign of the ongoing rise of Dublin’s Digital Docklands. The growth of SQS is an example of how the IT and digital sector can play an important role in job creation and, through the Action Plan for Jobs, the Government is determined to continue creating the conditions to support the growth of the digital economy. I would like to commend the company for the contribution it is making through its graduate programme and its work in building links with Irish third level colleges.”
