Last night, in a national press exclusive, it was announced that Kirby Group Engineering based in South Circular Road, Dublin is in line to win the top prize at this year’s National Q Mark Awards, having seen off tough competition from hundreds of excellent Irish businesses.
Irene Collins, the Managing Director of Excellence Ireland Quality Association, announced yesterday that the team from Kirby Group Engineering have exceeded the normal standards of quality and excellence and have set the standard that all other companies should be aiming for. She went on to say that, “The nomination in this category recognises that Kirby Group Engineering is operating at the highest standard of Quality and Excellence in the country.”
Given the serious concerns that many of us now have in relation to who is protecting us when it comes to quality testing and best practice, it is refreshing to know that EIQA – The Guardians of The Q Mark, are still rigorously auditing all types of businesses and will only award the coveted Q Mark to the one’s that operate at standards that operate above the current legislative requirements, and that have the consumer’s best interests in mind.
Kirby Group Engineering Limited employs 450 people across Ireland, UK and Europe and is an international, multi-disciplinary engineering services contractor. They have an impressive portfolio which includes clients such as Abbvie, Google, ESB, IDL, SSE Renewables and Analog Devices. The business excels at project delivery, bringing the client’s vision and building environments to life.
On hearing that they had been nominated for this prestigious award, Ray Ryan, Director QEHS & Dublin Region said, “Kirby Group is constantly striving for excellence in what we do and what we deliver on. Being nominated for a National Q Mark Award is both a matter of immense pride and affirmation that we are on the right path. It allows us to physically demonstrate to our fellow work employees that quality matters.”
This year’s star-studded Q Mark awards ceremony will take place in Dublin’s Burlington Hotel on September 27th when the team from Kirby Group Engineering in Dublin will go head to head with the best Irish businesses of 2013 to vie for what are known in the trade as ‘The Oscar’s of Business Excellence’.
The nomination for Kirby Group Engineering is a great news story of how a local business can actually set the standards for the rest of the country, and hopefully their customers will remind them on a daily basis, that we applaud their accomplishment and will be wishing them well for the final in Dublin, on September 27th.
