SEAI Energy Show 2013 Launched

The Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland’s (SEAI) Energy Show 2013 will take place at the RDS in Dublin on Wednesday 10th and Thursday 11th April. The annual two-day business event is the key energy showcase in the Irish calendar – a must for those who want to be up to speed on the latest energy saving solutions.

The Energy Show 2013, themed ‘Open up to Smart Energy Solutions’  focuses on the range of opportunities for businesses in energy efficient and renewable energy solutions. The Show features a trade exhibition presenting leading suppliers of sustainable energy products and services, a seminar programme covering current topics in the energy sector, a live demonstration area, workshops from third parties including LinkedIn on leveraging social media to benefit your business and an international markets networking event.

The programme of seminars, held over the two days of the Energy Show 2013, will provide practical advice and present best practice case studies to all those attending, as well as providing professionals the opportunity to network with their peers.  CPD accreditation is available for certain seminars.

On the first day of the Energy Show 2013 (Wednesday 10th April delegates will hear successful energy saving stories during the seminar Projects of Significance by Large Energy Users where companies like Musgraves and Diageo will talk about rolling out company-wide energy initiatives and the business impacts of varying levels of energy investments.  The seminar Smart Grid Outlook will provide visitors with national and international perspectives of smart grid implementation in particular focusing on the current policy, environmental and financial drivers.

Also on the first day, the seminar Energy Trends in the Food and Dairy Sectors will be of particular interest to those working with the food industry and will focus on energy investment options in a growing food sector.

Towards Nearly Zero Energy Buildings, which is being held on the second day of the Show (Thursday 11th April), will focus on the regulatory, design and construction changes required for nearly zero energy buildings. Attendees will learn about the cost-optimal balance between energy investments and the costs saved through the building lifecycle.

A number of other side events will also be held at the Energy Show, including a session on Energy Performance Contracting.  With the Government’s recent announcement of the €35 million seed capital which will be made available under the Energy Efficiency Fund, this event will provide very useful helpful tips for those considering tendering for energy related contracts.

This year the Energy Show will feature an extended live demonstration area where practical applications of technologies such as insulation, lighting, and heating will be presented and visitors will be able to meet with professionals for practical discussions around installations. For those interested in maximising networking opportunities, a new international markets business networking area will feature this year to enable professionals to meet and transact business in a suitable environment.

The free exhibition will run on Wednesday 10th April and Thursday 11th April from 10am to 6pm. Seminar places must be pre-booked in advance with a limited number of spaces available. For further details on SEAI’s Energy Show 2013 visit www.seai.ie/energyshow
