Supermac’s owners open Tipperary Town Plaza creating 80 Jobs Locally

Tipperary Town Plaza has openend its doors for business on the Limerick Road, providing over 80 jobs locally. The long awaited Service Station and Food Court will provide much needed services to motorists and tourists in the Tipperary area.

A vast variety of food offerings including Mac’s Place, a fresh gourmet style delicatessen alongside Supermac’s, Papa John’s Pizza, SuperSubs and Bewley’s are available for motorists in Tipperary Town Plaza as well as a Topaz Fuel Station and a Spar Convenience Shop. It is anticipated that as Tipperary Town Plaza is located just outside the town itself, the Bus Rest Stops and generous parking available will encourage tourists to visit and spend more time in the area.

The capital investment of €6 million singles out the development as one of the most significant business ventures in the Tipperary region over the last ten years. Construction work on the site, which has been completed in record time, generated 75 jobs mainly within the local economy.

Founding Directors of Supermac’s Ireland who developed the site, Pat and Una McDonagh, focused from the outset on ensuring that the job creation benefit of Tipperary Town Plaza would be centred on the local area.  Both Directors expressed delight at the success of the recruitment campaign which has seen the vast majority of employees drawn from the community of Tipperary Town. Mr McDonagh said Supermac’s is delighted to bring this level of sustainable income to communities in villages and towns whose economy is otherwise threatened by modern consumer drift to cities and online shopping.

Mr McDonagh says “we are thrilled with how the service station has turned out. We have had excellent local construction workers and suppliers helping to get the development prepared for business and now, as the doors have opened today, we have a dedicated team in place ready to greet and look after each customer as they arrive.”

“It is also a privilege to be working with the people of Tipperary Town” continues McDonagh. “We have developed many business links with Tipperary over the last three decades. The very first Supermac’s franchise opened in the historical town of Thurles 30 years ago while in the last three years we have successfully opened Supermac’s in Clonmel, the renowned Barack Obama Plaza, which has provided major economic boost to the local area and now Tipperary Town Plaza.”
